Microsoft is poised to take on YouTube, Amazon's Twitch and other streaming services by buying its own livestreaming service.



Today the Xbox maker announced plans to purchase Beam Livestream, a live streaming service founded in Seattle and founded by Matt Salsamendi (18 years old).



The teen who started his company in January claims it has already had 100,000 customers.

"This acquisition will allow gamers to enjoy the games they love with the people they love, and on the devices they prefer."



No terms of the deal were disclosed.
