Ten Years Later A Unique Version Of Minecraft Was Found

A very rare early version of Minecraft that was thought to be lost, has been rediscovered more than ten years after its release. Over the years, there have been hundreds upon hundreds of Minecraft versions. Fans have meticulously collected and archived a lot of them to preserve. However one particular version, Alpha 1.1.1 or Seecret Saturday, was believed to be lost forever. It introduced fishing rods as well as sneaking to Minecraft. However, it was found to have a game-breaking bug which made the screen completely gray. Top minecraft servers Version 1.1.2 was released within hours.



The whole story of its discovery was shared via Twitter by user @lunasorcery (via Kotaku), who discovered the lost Alpha 1.1.1. Luna clarifies that Alpha 1.1.1 was a meme that was common or holy theophany in Discord Omniarchive's Minecraft archiving Discord Omniarchive. No one believed they would discover it.



Someone discovered one of Luna's old tweets and inquired about it, and she was able to find an old backup of minecraft.jar dated the same as Alpha 1.1.1's release - September 18, 2010. Luna looked over the file and confirmed that it was Alpha 1.1.1, which she then posted on Omniarchive and it exploded.



So I made a post in Omniarchive and it would be overstated for me to say that some people were noticing.



Based on the reactions from the reactions, the reality of just how big a find this is begins to take hold. I feel like I'm shaking.
